This system includes a digital sound recorder allowing perceptual analysis of several recordings at the same time.

DIANA™ is a modular tool that can be used by

clinicians to fine-tune diagnosis of speech disorders and improve follow-up after surgery or medical treatment;
speech therapists not only for patient assessment before, during and after therapy but also as a therapeutic tool;
singers for assessment of tessitura, visual feedback during singing practice, and evaluation of progress;
instructors as a teaching aid.
researchers as a tool for building databases and conducting fundamental research;

A complete software and hardware system

New DIANA™ system operates on a Windows-based PC equipped with a USB interface. The system can be used on a portable PC computer .

The system consists of:

an external interface unit to amplify microphone without internal computer noise. This interface is constructed of aluminum for the chassis; it can withstand hard impacts and the aluminum is an excellent shield against high-frequency interference from other electrical components.
a hardware sound calibrator
a powerful, user-friendly software package containing the same analysis programs as the acoustic version of the EVA2™ workstation;

This two-part concept has a number of advantages including:

compatibility with techniques widely tested in medical and research institutions;
excellent recording and playback capabilities;
simplified connection and adjustment of peripheral devices;
low cost.

Premium sound quality

The DIANA™ system was designed to provide high-end sound quality. Professional features include

two-channel sound enabling various operating configurations

simultaneous connection of microphones for the patient and therapist;

simultaneous connection of a microphone and electroglottograph (EGG). Subject to alteration. Contact us

calibration system unit (buzzer) allowing adjustment of recording level according to the intensity of a reference signal;

built-in power supply for electret microphones (no batteries or external source required);

input connections allowing delayed analysis of samples recorded made with conventional and DAT recording devices;

output connections for audio tape recording.

DIANA software

The DIANA™ system comes with a comprehensive software package specially developed for clinical voice and speech analysis. These applications are designed to calculate study parameters from data acquired by the DIANA™ system. All software operates in the user-friendly and highly efficient Windows environment. Data is presented in an easy-to-understand format.

A data log is kept to facilitate retrieval, classification and comparison. Commentary to be included in recordings.
